Care mast be exercised to either have the pistol raised or pointed down range when loading.
Before firing, the fircr must be sure that the bore of the pistol is free from any foreign matter. Firing a pistol with any obstruction in the bore will result in damage to the weapon and possible injury ro personnel.
Before starting an inspection, be sure to clear the weapon. Do NCTT actuate the trigger until the weapon has been cleared. Remove magazine, inspect the chamber to insure that it is empty and check to see that no ammunition is in position to be introduced.
Avoid skin contact with P-Olll. The compound should be washed off thoroughly with running water if it comes in contact with the skin. A good lanolin base cream, after exposure to the compound, is helpful. The use of rubber gloves and protective equipment is recommended.
