GSR or FDR

Scorching

Fine carbonaceous material in the discharge residues.

Mixture of bullet lubricant, mouth sealant and carbonaceous material picked up by the bullet whilst travelling down the bore, which is deposited on any material through which it passes.

GSR (gunshot residue) or FDR (firearms discharge residue) Mixture of unburnt and partially burnt propellant, amorphous sooty material, incandescent gases and primer discharge residues which issue from a weapon during firing. Close-range effect of hot gases emerging from the muzzle of a fired weapon.
