Unloading the Pistol

With the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, first depress the magazine release on the left side of the frame and remove the magazine. Then, pull back the slide to make sure that the chamber is empty.

CAUTION: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER WHILE REMOVING THE MAGAZINE.

Grip the slide. Draw it sharply rearward and lock the slide to the rear by raising the Slide Stop. This will clear anv round that may be in the chamber

and eject that round. Visually inspect both the chamber and magazine channel to l>e sure your pistol is clear. When you store your pistol, leave the slide back and the magazine out. Remove any cartridges remaining in the magazine by individually stripping them from the magazine thumb. The magazine and cartridges should be stored separately from the pistol.
