In its forward position, the magazine cut-off has no effect. In its rear position, on the other hand, it prevents cartridges feeding out of the magazine (fig. 6).
To extract the cartridge from the chamber to replace it by another different from those in the magazine, turn the magazine cut-off rearwards, draw the bolt rearwards (fig. 6) and, the cartridge being ejected, place the new cartridge in the ejection opening. Then allow the bolt to go forward by pressing the carrier latch button. Take care to avoid placing a finger or the hand near the ejection opening.
Note that the mechanical feeding up from the magazine will not occur if the magazine cutt-of is in its rear position.
