When temperature is below -25°F (-32°C) grease (GMD) can cause breech locking lugs to stick. When temperature is below -25°F (-32°C), use LAW on breech locking lugs.


a. Using acid brush, apply a light coat of grease to outside surfaces of breech assembly (1).

b. If temperature is above -25°F (-32°C), apply a heavy coat of grease to breech locking lugs (2).

c. If temperature is below -25°F (-32°C), apply a heavy coat of LAW to breech locking lugs (2).
