Do not drop lockwire pieces into gun. Wire can get between moving parts and damage gun.
2. REMOVE LOCKWIRE FROM REAR TRACK.
Remove lockwire from two capscrews (3). 3. REMOVE REAR TRACK.
a. Remove two capscrews (3) from rear track (2).
b. Lift rear track (2) from auto gun receiver (1).
1. INSPECT REAR TRACK.
a. Visually inspect rear track (1) for cracks, breaks, and bends. If any of these conditions are found, replace rear track.
b. Visually inspect sliding surfaces of rear track (1) for burrs and chips. If either of these conditions are found, repair with stone or abrasive cloth.
Visually inspect auto gun receiver for loose or damaged screw threaded inserts. If either of these conditions are found, send auto gun receiver to Direct Support Maintenance for repair.
