Place feeder handle in down (locked) position to protect electrical connector on bottom of automatic gun feeder.
1. POSITION AUTOMATIC GUN FEEDER.
Place automatic gun feeder (1) on a clean, flat surface with feeder handle (2) in down position as shown.
2. GAIN ACCESS TO FORWARD FEEDER GATE CAPSCREWS.
a. Pull out on both feed shaft stop buttons (3). Hold buttons out until next step is complete.
b. Turn upper and lower feed sprocket assemblies (4) until capscrew (5) is visible. 3. REMOVE FORWARD FEEDER GATE.
a. Remove and discard self-locking nut (6).
b. Remove capscrew (5), sleeve spacer (7), special spring (8), and forward feeder gate (9) from forward feed assembly (10).
a. Visually inspect forward feeder gate (1) and sleeve spacer (2) for bends, breaks, and galls. If any of these conditions are found, replace defective part.
b. Visually inspect capscrew (3) for stripped threads. If stripped threads are found, replace capscrew.
c. Visually inspect special spring (4) for bends and breaks. If either of these conditions are found, replace special spring.
1. GAIN ACCESS TO FORWARD FEEDER GATE MOUNTING HOLE. a. Pull out both feed shaft stop buttons (1).
INSTALLATION - Continued b. Turn upper and lower feed sprocket assemblies (2) until mounting hole (3) is visible.
2. INSTALL FORWARD FEEDER GATE.
a. Assemble sleeve spacer (4), special spring (5), and forward feeder gate (6).
b. Compress special spring (5) while installing subassembly into forward feed assembly (7).
c. Insert capscrew (8) through forward feed assembly (7) and install new self-locking nut (9).
