The upper feed sprocket assembly shaft is longer than the lower feed sprocket assembly shaft. The lower feed sprocket assembly has a third sprocket on it's shaft.
a. Grasp upper feed sprocket assembly (3) and lower feed sprocket assembly (2) at the same time.
b. Pull both sprocket assemblies straight out of feeder drive assembly (1).
INSPECT UPPER FEED AND LOWER FEED SPROCKET ASSEMBLIES.
a. Visually inspect both sprocket assemblies (1) and (2) for cracks, chips, broken or bent sprockets, and damaged splines. If any of these conditions are found, replace sprocket assembly(ies).
b. Visually inspect lower feed sprocket assembly (1) for presence of third sprocket (3) on its shaft. Replace lower feed sprocket assemblies that do not have the third sprocket.
LUBRICATE UPPER FEED AND LOWER FEED SPROCKET ASSEMBLIES.
Using acid brush, apply light coat of grease to sprocket assembly splines (1) and ends of shaft (2).
