Remove any preservative coating from rear link stripper before inspection.
a. Visually inspect rear link stripper for chips, cracks, bends, and damaged threads. If any of these conditions are found, replace rear link stripper.
b. Enhanced Feeders Only: Visually inspect rear link stripper for missing or damaged buttons. If either of these conditions are found, replace rear link stripper.
c. Enhanced Feeders Only: Visually inspect rear link strippers for loose buttons. If buttons are loose, apply sealing compound primer and adhesive. Torque buttons to 80 in.-lb ± 5 in.-lb (9.04 N-m ± 0.57 N-m).
1. INSTALL REAR UPPER LINK STRIPPER.
Position rear upper link stripper (1) on feeder drive assembly (2). Align mounting holes (3).
