Warning

Dry cleaning solvent (SD) is flammable and toxic. Use in well-ventilated area away from an open flame or a smoking area. This solvent evaporates quickly and has a drying effect on the skin. It may cause cracks in the skin and, in some cases, mild irritation or inflammation. If solvent comes in contact with eyes or skin, flush with water.

CLEAN FEED SHAFT STOP ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS.

Using brush and dry cleaning solvent, clean helical spring (1), feed shaft stop button (2), and feed shaft stop sleeve (3).

INSPECTION

INSPECT FEED SHAFT STOP ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS.

a. Visually inspect feed shaft stop button (1) and feed shaft stop sleeve (2) for cracks, breaks, bends, and galls. Visually inspect feed shaft stop sleeve (2) for damaged threads. If feed shaft stop button (1) or feed shaft stop sleeve (2) is damaged, replace entire feed shaft stop assembly.

b. Visually inspect helical spring (3) for cracks or breaks. If either of these conditions are found, replace helical spring.

LUBRICATION

LUBRICATE FEED SHAFT STOP ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS.

Using acid brush, apply a light coat of grease to feed shaft stop button (1), feed shaft stop sleeve (2), and helical spring (3).
