M240 Headspace Guages

The headspace gage (reject (25)) must NOT ALLOW the bolt assembly to lock in the firing position.

If it is necessary to replace parts, headspace warning and reject gaging procedures must be repeated to be sure weapon is serviceable.

Perform testing with the headspace gage (reject (25)) as shown in 4 previous steps. If the weapon locks with the headspace gage (reject (25)), do not use the weapon until it is repaired. To repair, replace bolt assembly (26), barrel assembly (4), or replace both bolt assembly and barrel assembly.
