Ask veterans of World War II streetfighting what proved the deadliest threat and they won't cite a machine gun or rifle—they'll tell you it was self-propelled guns that could withstand small-arms fire and directly blast away at your position.
With their mobility, armor protection, and heavy guns, tanks, too, are deadly, while the recent growth of cannon-packing armored personnel carriers cannot be ignored, either. All these can smash the most heavily sandbagged position with direct fire—it's just a question of bringing their guns to bear. In an urban area, the relevant information becomes, how high can these weapon systems elevate their guns?
I computed the answers, as displayed above, and was surprised to see how steeply these guns elevate and how high they can reach even at short ranges. My conclusion: have an alternative hide ready at a lower level so the instant tanks and self-propelled artillery appear, you can get down low enough that intervening buildings mask your hide.

Deer hunting is an interesting thing that reminds you of those golden old ages of 19th centuries, where a handsome hunk well equipped with all hunting material rides on horse searching for his target animal either for the purpose of displaying his masculine powers or for enticing and wooing his lady love.
